Passion Fruit Margarita

The ultimate summer cocktail gets a fresh twist while still remaining true to its tropical roots. You’ll need 3 passion fruits and a mesh strainer to make the 2 ounces of juice this recipe calls for. Using Monin Liqueur in place of the traditional triple sec keeps lime flavor in the picture, but Cointreau would make an excellent substitute.

Combine in a cocktail shaker:

  • 2 ounces fresh, seedless passion fruit juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila
  • 1 1/2 ounces Monin Liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar

Stir until sugar dissolves, then add ice and shake. Strain into an ice-filled glass rimmed with:

  • Fleur de sel

Serves 1.

Conversions: 2 ounces = 60 ml, 1 1/2 ounces = 45 ml, 1 teaspoon sugar = 4 grams. Margarita salt can be used in place of fleur de sel.
